Information

Referral Pathways

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
A MHCP is a referral from your child’s regular GP that allows them to access Medicare rebates ($98.97/ session) for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year. To obtain one, you’ll need to book an appointment with your child’s GP to discuss their mental health concerns.

Private

You can also access psychology sessions privately, without a referral or MHCP. Private sessions are to be paid in full, and private health insurance rebates may apply depending on your level of cover.

NDIS

Psychology services can also be accessed through the NDIS for eligible participants. Bright Star Psychology can offer services to plan-managed and self-managed participants.
